There are many types of guitar tuners with different features and uses.There are  analog or digital tuners. Some of them play specific notes and some more advanced ones play different notes in different pitches. The feature rich ones can play every possible note. Some guitar tuners have audio input while many others analyze the sound coming from microphone. Basic tuners are only able to produce the tones.
